What is Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)?

Conjunctivitis, an inflammation or infection of the outer membrane of the eyeball and the inner eyelid, is a common condition in children. It can be caused by viruses, bacteria, allergens, or irritants, and could potentially be contagious. Our qualified team is trained to identify, diagnose, and treat this condition effectively.

Pink Eye Symptoms

  • reddish or pink appearance of the eye
  • eye itchiness or grittiness (a feeling of sand in the eye)
  • discharge from the eye
  • tearing
  • sensitivity to light

Other Eye Problems

Foreign objects in the eye, resulting from everyday activities or accidents, can cause discomfort and pose serious threat if not attended to promptly. Our pediatric care center ensures immediate attention to such cases, providing professional care to alleviate pain and prevent further damage.

Corneal abrasions, or scratches on the eye’s surface, can result from physical damage or exposure to harmful substances. Our team employs modern, safe techniques to treat these abrasions, ensuring quick recovery and minimal discomfort.

Styes, a painful red lump on the edge of the eyelid, and allergic eye reactions are other minor eye conditions that can cause significant discomfort. At our center, we provide comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each child’s specific needs.

In all cases, our mission at the pediatric urgent care center is to ensure your child receives efficient, professional care, reestablishing their eye health and overall well-being. We are open seven days a week, ready to serve your child’s urgent medical needs. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can reserve a spot online to save time. We are here to help.

Lastly, you’ll find that the wait time at PedsNOW is generally much shorter than you’ll experience at most urgent care clinics. While general urgent care centers might see a broad array of patients, from the elderly to adults with complex medical conditions, pediatric urgent care centers solely focus on treating children. This not only allows for more targeted care but also usually results in shorter wait times, ensuring that your child receives swift and effective medical attention.
