Covid-19 Testing for Kids & Adults

We offer Covid-19 PCR testing in Hinesville for kids and adults.

The PCR test is the most accurate way to determine if you have an active SARS-CoV-2 infection. It is administered via a nasal swab and can directly detect the virus’s genetic material. The sample is sent to a lab for processing, with results usually ready within a few days.

How do I book a Covid-19 test at PedsNow?

Simply walk in for a COVID Test! No appointment necessary. We offer COVID-19 testing for all ages, 10am – 8pm Monday – Sunday.

How much does a Covid-19 test cost?

The cost for testing should be covered by most insurance plans. If you are uninsured, we offer the test at a self-pay price of $50 at the time of your visit.

My child needs a Covid test, and so do I. Can we get tested at the same time?

Yes, but an appointment is required. When a child or young adult up to age 20 is being tested, we can test adults from the same household at the same time.

When will I receive my test results?

In general, your results will be available within 48-72 hours.

Here’s how it works:

  1. We administer the nasal swab test at our clinic to collect your fluid sample.
  2. We send the fluid sample to a lab to check for the presence of coronavirus.
  3. The lab returns results within 48-72 hours.

What are the symptoms of coronavirus in children?

Children, as a group, are less susceptible to covid-19. The illness in pediatric cases appears to be mild, with most cases presenting with symptoms of a common cold, such as:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Nasal congestion
  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat

Fever, cough and shortness of breath can occur in the more severe cases.

What is PedsNow doing to ensure the clinic is safe to visit?

We’re committed to maintaining a safe, sanitized, and welcoming environment in which you can seek care for your child during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are extra safety measures in place to safeguard the health of our patients, staff, and community.

  • Enhanced cleaning measures: all surfaces (doorknobs, exam tables, drawers, etc) are wiped down at regular intervals and after each visit. We also perform a nightly deep clean.
  • Hand sanitizer available throughout the facility and we have reduced the number of surfaces you need to physically touch while in the clinic.
  • All staff wear appropriate PPE and face masks. We also ask patients and parents to wear face masks while in clinic.
  • We allow a limited number of people in the office at once, with reduced seating in the waiting area to ensure proper social distancing.
  • At this time, we only allow the patient and one adult in the exam room per visit.
